A 1-day Earth Day event with community workshops & volunteer activities forall ages on green infrastructure, native plants, compost, and more.

Location: DSNY Salt Lot, 2 Second Ave (cross street 5th Street), Brooklyn, NY 11215Who

Benefits: Gowanus Watershed residents who will learn how they can take an active role in shaping the future of the canal andwaterfront, including residents of Gowanus, Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, and Cobble Hill.

Project Description: GCC in partnership with local community members and organizations will host community workshops and a stewardshipvolunteer activity, suitable for all ages. GCC is committed to engaging watershed residents and families in becomingstewards for the canal, advocating for an open, clean & alive waterway. The 1-day event will educate participants invarious sustainable practices such as composting, recycling, repairing and sharing material resources.
