Add a sun-protective shade structure over the sandbox. Replace 4 non working “musical” elements with appropriate new structures to better utilize thissizable area of the playground.

Cost: $450,000

Location: Harmony Playground, Prospect Park between 10th and 11th Sts.

Who Benefits: Children of all ages who visit this enormously popular playground, includingthose on school field trips, summer camps and regular daytime andafterschool users.

Project Description: The sandbox for tots sits in full sun. A permanent shade would reduce therisk of sunburn. The structures in the photos should make musical sounds:“Harmony”, but do not work. New equipment is needed.
