Replace rusty sinks and splintered cabinets that pose a health/safety hazard to 5-year-olds and after-school communities who use the rooms daily.
Cost: $200,000
Location: PS 282, Lincoln Place between 5/6 Avenues
Who Benefits:The kindergartners and pre-k through first graders who utilize the rooms for afterschool will benefit. PS 282 is a racially diverse school serving 750 students,100% of whom receive free or reduced priced lunch.
Project Description: The deteriorated 55-year-old sink units will be replaced by safe, functioning units. The message of respect teachers and staff bring students will be reinforced by the condition of the classrooms.
