A two panel, 600-watt solar + 7.8 kilowatt-hour battery will provide electricity to SBCG, which currently has no electric supply.
Cost: $10,260
Location: SBCG, 204 Columbia Street (and Sackett) near the Columbia St. Waterfront
Who Benefits:A member-based cooperative and public garden, SBCG allows the community to connect with food and nature. The 125 members grow food, offer education programs, and donate organic vegetables to the Food Bank for NY.
Project Description:Two 300-watt solar panels + battery will provide electricity and help expand services to include community movie nights, new projects for their free gardening classes, and use power tools for upkeep and maintenance.
